![]() ![]() The same thing does not happen on the same laptop and the same FireFox browser on Windows.Īs far as I imagine, if the state of multitouch gestures on the Gnome developers' machines were like that of my laptop, they would not have shipped it. The scrolling is too fast, and trying to invoke pinch-to-zoom often invokes scrolling, and even when it works, the pinch-to-zoom speed and location is unnatural and inaccurate. On Gnome/Wayland Manjaro (everything up-to-date), the gestures are so inaccurate and unstable that things like pinch-to-zoom on FireFox are almost unusable. I think it uses Microsoft's Precision Touchpad driver that comes with Windows. My laptop does not come with the manufacturer's proprietary touchpad driver. I am now running Windows 10 with working ASUS Smart Gesture on my ASUS ZENBOOK UX31E and all thanks to ivanrf. On Windows, multi-touch gestures like pinch-to-zoom or two-finger scrolling work like those of a MacBook, at least with newer applications like Microsoft's Photos or FireFox. None of them offered any solution but to ask me to bring the laptop back to ASUS store.Īs I was about to give up on my ASUS, I found your website, and the problem solved easily!! On March 3, without solving my problem, the ASUS Technical Support Team claimed it was their pleasure to solve my problem! At the same time, I went to ASUS online forum seeking for solution and never got any answer after March 5.Īs I did all the best I could and even took photos with my iPhone and uploaded them to ASUS WebStorage, so that the ASUS Tech Support and Forum Support could understood my need for SetupTPDriver.msi of ASUS Smart Gesture Driver v1.0.27 for Windows 7 for UX31E. I did, but the problem with my ASUS Smart Gesture got worse! I wrote to ASUS Technical Support Team and was informed that my UX31E is not supported by Windows 10 and was advised to downgrade back to Windows 7. I have an ASUS Zenbook UX31E and I upgraded it to Windows 10 from Windows 7 on February 25 and experienced the same problem. Will try a little bit, but I fear it is a hardware problem. Update 2: I returned to Win 8.1 now, also problems. I got an nonsense answer from ASUS telling me to do what I already had explained them that I had done… I have tried ASUS tech support, but have not heard back from them. I am considering now after 6 months to go back to Win 8.1, but then the scaling of the 4k screen becomes a problem. ![]() This really annoys me, and is ruining the feeling of having an state of the art laptop. With my additional mouse I then try repair, still without success. Each time I install Smart Gesture, my trackpad and keyboard stops working. I have tried following your suggestions and tried many versions of Smart Gesture on my Asus Zenbook UX303LN without success (2.2.8, 4.05 and 4.12). In any case no icon is present in the control panel at difference of Windows 7 If you click on it, then you can configure all the possible Asus smart gestures provided (non many, really) Optional: drag
